Fancourt Launches A World First with The Manor House Pro Package

GEORGE, SOUTH AFRICA - Avid golfers can now experience a truly exceptional golfing breakaway at The Manor House on Fancourt Estate, with the launch of an exclusive, first of its kind Pro Package that comes complete with the expert tuition and guidance of a personal golfing professional.

Designed as a luxury package for individual golfers, the Pro Package includes four nights' accommodation at The Manor House, Fancourt Estate's luxurious and exclusive boutique hotel, as well as the opportunity to be pampered both on and off the estate's golf courses and the chance to play the members-only private club and No 1 ranked course in South Africa - The Links.

"The concept of offering individual golfers the added value of having their own golf pro for the duration of their stay is a world first for Fancourt estate and positions The Manor House and the estate's three world-class golf courses at the pinnacle of South Africa's golf tourism sector," says Fancourt's sales and marketing director, Peter Dros.

"Pro Package guests will be greeted at George Airport by a personal butler with refreshments before being driven to The Manor House in the hotel's beautiful chauffeured BMW. Their golf pro will greet them on arrival at the hotel and will go through the exciting itinerary with them, which includes a personal video assessment on the first afternoon and a round of golf on the Outeniqua, Montagu and Links courses, accompanied by the pro as part of an exclusive two-ball, with guidance and tuition along the way," Dros adds.

Accommodation will be in one of The Manor House's 18 luxury suites and meals will be taken at either the renowned Henry White's restaurant or one of Fancourt Estate's other restaurants. The package also includes a range of luxury, personalised gifts and tempting treats such as truffles and champagne and afternoon tea and canapes.

"The concept for the Pro Package was borrowed from the safari industry, which offers private guiding options for guests who want a more exclusive safari experience," explains Dros. "By adapting this concept to the golf market and adding the exclusive services of a golf pro we are taking Fancourt's golf offering to a whole new level," he says.

Treatments

The spa at Fancourt offers an extensive range of skin and body treatments, each tailored to indulge the senses, alleviate stress and promote holistic well being. Our packages cater to a broad spectrum of personal preferences from aromatically infused therapies to deep cleansing regimes and our signature Roma Stone Placement Massage. Retreat into pure bliss at the Fancourt Spa and prepare for an experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and nourished.

Our Signature Treatment – Roma Stone Placement Massage, is designed around the healing properties of the Basalt Rock Hot Stone and the nourishing elements of the Soy Lotion Candle.  This massage aids in relaxing and reviving the tissues.  Muscle pain and stiffness in joints is repaired by the heat of the stone enabling blood flow passing on oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body.  To achieve a deeper relaxation and aid in the regulation of blood pressure we suggest following your treatment with 15 minutes in our gently heated Roman Tepidarium.

Heated Roman Bath and Jacuzzi

Providing a contemporary take on ancient culture, Fancourt’s Roman Bath combines the calming effect of water with the detoxifying potential of heat. At 31 degrees, the Roman Bath is a comfortable place to unwind and recharge after a day of golfing or as part of your leisure experience at Fancourt. Weekly water aerobics classes are hosted in this area, which includes a blissful Jacuzzi.

Please note, this is an adults only area.

Sauna and Steam Room

Our sauna and steam room creates the perfect conditions for melting away tensions, stimulating healthy circulation and soothing tired muscles. Gently heated to the optimum temperatures for relaxation and well being, these immaculate facilities are designed to augment the luxurious Fancourt experience.

Tepidarium

In a nod to a time-honoured Roman bathing ritual, the tepidarium houses heated seats that gradually elevate the body’s temperature to improve circulation and promote deep relaxation. The design of this area includes a series of vents which release different essential oils every 5 minutes, treating guests to a heat therapy session coupled with an aromatherapy experience.

Physiotherapy

Fancourt’s therapeutic offerings include an on-site physiotherapist, who provides treatment for injuries as well as expert assistance on restoring mobility and alleviating pain. In addition to physical therapy, our specialist is trained in Aquatic Bodywork Therapy Techniques and provides hydrotherapy services within the spa facility.

Cupcake Icing Drive 430x240

George Child and Family Welfare

Initiated by Sabine Plattner’s patronage of George Child and Family Welfare in 2000, this local NGO is still Fancourt’s key focus today, and in many instances, has been a lifeline for thousands of children and their families. Working with celebrities for fundraising events, including more recently well-known television presenter, Chantal Rutter Dros and Mrs SA finalist, Gela le Roux, these partnerships have not only raised money but more importantly awareness of the George Child and Family Welfare and the important work they do.

Some of the projects Fancourt has initiated are as follows:

  • Annual Cupcake icing drive – icing cupcakes and donating these along with funds raised to the children’s orphanages
  • Santa’s Surprise – giving the children gifts for Christmas
  • Annual Ladies Tea – Fancourt annually hosts a Ladies Tea held on the Estate to raise considerable donations for George Child and Family Welfare.

sikelela skills development 430x240

Sikelela Skills Development Centre

Sikelela Skills Development Centre is an initiative of the George Child and Family Welfare Society (GCFW) aimed at creating jobs and driving long-term change in the lives of the unemployed through basic craft training. Established in 2006, Sikelela trains and assists local crafters to develop socially, economically and environmentally sustainable lifestyles.

In association with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport and the Cape Craft and Design Institute, this project provides training for crafters in design, production, marketing and the sale of their products. The work of these talented artisans include handcrafted gifts, art, fashion and décor products which are sold at Sikelela’s retail store on the corner of Albert and Merriman streets in George alongside a selection of treats and organic coffee at the adjacent café.

Golden Valley Creche 430x240

Golden Valley Creché

Fancourt commits to a Monthly Soup Kitchen Challenge within the Blanco community, actively encouraging all individuals and businesses to get involved in community development programmes. 55 and 60 children are fed on this monthly drive.

In winter Fancourt initiated a Youth Day Scarf Drive to ensure that every child has a warm scarf for winter.

Rosemoor 430x240

Rosemoor Old Age Home

Every year Fancourt chooses a renovation or upliftment project at the Rosemoor Old Age Home in celebration of Mandela Day. In the build up to Nelson Mandela Day on the 18th July 2017, Fancourt estate members, staff, and Kloppers George (a local appliance store) partnered up to donate a washing machine, chest freezer and an array of healthcare products to Rosemoor Old Age Home, a facility for the impoverished, aged members of the George community. And this was not all, as the Rosemoor ICU room also received a much needed face-lift, including fresh paint on the walls courtesy of Phoenix Painters, repurposed curtains courtesy of Kommaweer Upholsterers and Curtaining, along with new furniture and wall hangings donated by Fancourt.  These projects have naturally made life easier for residents and staff.

Ikama Lethu Golf 430x240

Ikamva Lethu Golf Development Programme

Three Fancourt employees, Montagu and Outeniqua caddy master Joe Mathikge; starter, marshall and beverage cart driver Asanda Ximba, and Duval Lalaphantsi of The Links are the brains behind the Ikamva Lethu Golf Development programme based in Thembalethu, a registered NPO.

The main objective of the organisation, whose Xhosa translation of their name reads ‘our future’, is to provide community service to fellow community members in their residential area with the intention to equip young people with golf skills, mentor them on a healthy lifestyle and assist in their mental and emotional development through the great medium that is golf.
