The drive from Pretoria was a mere three and half hours, and we were greeted by the smiling staff at Muluwa Lodge, ready with refresher towels and welcome drinks before being escorted to our spacious Superior suites offering gorgeous views overlooking the heart of the "slowveld".
The staff surprised the birthday girl with a well equipped goodie bag of pre-packed snacks and refreshments on sunset rock, where we witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets that only the lowveld can offer. The perfect welcoming for a group of Capetonians!
We had to make the most of our time here, and spent the next two days exploring some of the attractions of the Panorama Route including Sudwala Caves, Graskop Gorge, Mac Mac Falls and the highlight of the trip - Hot Air Ballooning over the macadamia plantations in White River early on Sunday morning! The scenery is truly spectacular, and we couldn't have asked for better weather!
The surprises just kept coming, and we were treated to a buffet style boma dinner on our last night, at which point the team delivered a stunning birthday cake and a lively display of "Happy birthday to you" to the milestone birthday girl. All in, the food is generous and delicious, the hospitality genuine and the location ideally positioned for a full itinerary of great activities!
With the Numbi gate at Kruger National Park a mere 45min drive, extend your stay to 4 nights or more in order to experience all that the area has to offer! Or simply fly in to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), and you will be 20min away from Muluwa Lodge to maximise your time!
Thank you Muluwa Lodge for a magnificent stay!
