Mount Camdeboo

Cupped in the palm of the picturesque Sneeuberg Mountain Range in South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape province, Mount Camdeboo Private Game Reserve offers a personalised safari in a region that is steeped in history and culture. The reserve accommodates only 28 guests on 14 000 hectares, ensuring sensitive and sustainable utilisation of natural resources as a foundation for eco-tourism and wildlife conservation.

The Sneeuberg mountain range valley is more verdant than the surrounding semi-arid countryside. Once up on the steep slopes of the reserve, sweeping views abound of typical Karoo mountain formations and plains beyond, whilst being in grasslands teeming with game. The reserve is home to white rhino, Cape buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, mountain zebra, a host of antelope, an abundance of birds and unique Cape flora.

Accommodation is in three beautifully restored, gracious gabled manors – one of which is a sole-use villa - each with spacious gardens and swimming pools, or alternatively for those looking for something under canvas, two luxurious and privately located en-suite safari tents provide sweeping views over the reserve.

The reserve offers a host of activities, from game drives and guided bush walks, to cheetah tracking, star gazing, scenic helicopter flights and Anglo Boer War talks at an historic site on the reserve. Situated in a malaria-free area, it is the ideal option for a family getaway and welcomes children of all ages.

Offering warm and attentive service, Mount Camdeboo is the ideal safari destination for the discerning traveller.
